London, [T R and E M], for Matthew Walbanke, 1650-52.

2 works bound in one volume, small octavo, pagination: [16], 336; [14], 356, title pages within typographical borders, bound in contemporary sheep, spine considerably worn and chipped and split at middle, though somehow holding together, lacking one leaf of contents in second part [A8], occasional soiling and stains but generally sound.

FOURTH IMPRESSION OF FIRST PART, FIRST EDITION OF SECOND PART; these are regarded as separate works by ESTC, though they are often found bound together, and were issued thus in later printings.

The first part is quite complete, and is a rare issue, ESTC recording only the Dulwich College copy, although an issue with Tuckey's imprint is in a US court library.

Whilst the second part is defective, lacking one leaf of its table, it is the very scarce first edition, of which ESTC records 2 copies UK and 5 copies US, and it does have the very rare woodcut frontispiece before the title page.
