After studying at Westminster school Boult went up to Christ Church, Oxford, to read history in 1908, Dyring this period of his life he devoted much time to musical activities in the area of performance, and this study arrangemnt of Beethoven's nInth dates from this period. Rotary Photographic postcad postmarked 1907. An attractive signed
portrait in VG state of this most famou of English female violinists of
the period. who made her London debut in 1903. Vaughan Williams too
advice from her in writing his 'Lark Ascending' and gave the first
performances of both piano and violin accompanied versions. She also
made the first -abridged - recording of the Elgar Violin Concerto. This
example is certainly in response to a fan mail request addressed by
herself to a Miss Hutchinson in Rochdale, sent from Bradford. £35.00
